How To Choose The Right Wedding Favors

By Juliette Crane

No modern wedding would be the same if it wasn't for the wedding favors and they are often the main subject of conversation after the venue and brides dress. Fortunately, there are a number of different options which are very easy to arrange at the last minute. This is important because it can take a great deal of stress when you realize the big event is rapidly approaching and these haven't been organized.

An easy wedding favor option is flowers which really don't take much to arrange but guests can enjoy. Owing to the nature of flowers, they can usually be left until later in the preparations which means the bride and groom will have less to worry about.

You might consider giving your guests a single red rose as a favor and this is extremely appropriate because a rose is a symbol of love plus roses do not need to be wrapped. Placing the rose on the wedding reception table where the guest are seated is a nice touch and doesn't need to be done until the last minute.

These days the favorite is using candy and almost three quarters of events will use this as an easy wedding favor which can be enhanced by using a presentation tin. A simpler but possibly more interesting method is to present the candy that does away with expensive centerpieces altogether. Now, how simple is a large glass bowl filled with candy going to be in the centre of the table?

Supplying each wedding guest with a small tin or other presentation container so they can fill it with whatever candy they wish. This could be called a self service gift because all you have to do is supply the candy and something to place it in.

If you prefer not to give your guests more to eat then another option is a small picture frame and if you like, it can be used on the day as placeholders. Where possible, try to find a way around wrapping wedding favors, especially the likes of picture frames which could take a considerable amount of time, not to mention the cost. By using the picture frames as placeholders provides a way around this, making it a gift that does not need to be wrapped.

An easy wedding favor that might appeal is to have the photographer take a digital picture of each guest and then present it to them at the wedding reception as they arrive. The photos can be printed out whilst the reception goes on and the guests will have a pleasant surprise at the end of the evening when they leave as their photo will be waiting for them. If you are really stuck for a wedding favor idea, why not ask the photographer to take a picture of people as they arrive, to be presented later at the reception. Many photographers will also have a projector so could arrange a looping slide show of all the photos he had taken of the guests.
