When a young couple are planning that most special of days in their lives together Evey little detail is important. While the big things such as choosing a minster, a venue for the ceremony and the perfect dress are obvious things to come to mind there is one that most people may not think about till. It is nearly too late. There are some major considerations that one needs to keep in mind when they are choosing restaurants for weddings in Manhattan.

One thing that you must keep in mind, and this cannot be stressed enough, is that you have to plan ahead. This is true anywhere but in the Big Apple its especially vital. The most popular venues for these type of events often are booked up to a year or more ahead of the needed date. If you cannot get the location that you dream of don't fret, there are a lot of hidden gems in the city that are wonderful venues for your dinner and are easily able to accommodate you with lesser notice.

Do try to book as far ahead for any venue as you can. This will ensure that you have the best chance to secure the space when you need it. You may also find that the venue is willing to offer you a better deal if you agree to a non-refundable deposit.

If the location that you want does not offer a party or meeting room ask about the possibility of renting the entire space for a private party. It is very uncomfortable and awkward for your guests to feel like they are putting on a show for the rest of the restaurant patrons. While this option may cost more, in the end it will make for a better and more enjoyable event.

Ask if its possible to provide your own music for the event. Just like with the reception, special songs that mean something to the bridal couple and the guests in attendance will make the evening more memorable and pleasant. As an alternative ask if it would be possible to turn off the ambient music altogether for the time you are there.

Often setting a choice for the dinner off of the catering menu is a great cost control measure over letting guests choose form the main menu. If there is a bar on site, let guests know that they are responsible for their adult beverages, but that a drink limit is imposed of two cocktails. The wedding party should cover the cost of the wine and soft beverages as part of the dinner however.

If you have chosen to go with a lesser known venue make sure that you give your guests good directions as well as clear information about parking. If they do not have parking on site, get a recommendation and see if you can get a group deal with the provider. Pay for it out of the wedding budget and send a parking pass with the invites to your guests. They will more than appreciate the gesture.

Choosing restaurants for weddings in Manhattan is not a tough job if you put thought into it and plan ahead. Keeping in mind that booking as soon as you have a date is essential will remove most of the difficulty. Making sure that you keep an open mind and are willing to compromise will go a long way as well.
