If you have some glass pipes which need cleaning, you do not have to get the help of somebody. Doing it can be simply done using the following tips. Read on to know how to start with.
Remove any particles which should not have been there by simply turning it upside down and tap it gently. Then flush the inside portion with running water so that any dirt that has attached will also be removed. Use caution in holding the wet object because it might slip in your hands and be dropped.
The most common and tested way of doing it is by using of rubbing alcohol. Obtain a resealable plastic bag or a sandwich bag and fill that with alcohol but only placing a sufficient amount enough to fill the bottom part. Be sure that the solution is adequate to submerge the object upon placing it inside the bag.
If the thing has already been place and properly submerged in the bag, place it in the microwave and set the timer for about ten seconds. Bring the alcohol to boil but be alert because this could happen pretty fast. Do not let the entire thing be heated for a long time because the plastic might melt and the glass might t also be broken.
Then the bag will have to be taken out of the microwave and by then shake the whole thing so that the alcohol will get into the tube. By this, a lot of debris or dirt will be taken off but do not yet get the thing out of the plastic and soak it overnight to loosen hardened dirt. Be sure to seal it and wait about eight to ten hours.
When the thing has already been soaked for the required time, taking it out of the bag follows which should then be rinsed well with running water. Moreover, sometimes there will remain stubborn dirt which usually happens when cleaning is not regularly done. To take them off, get some pipe cleaners or some cotton balls which can also do the job.
After it has dried thoroughly, it can then be used again and this completes the whole process. There are however other ways of doing it if you do not want to use alcohol and it can be done by boiling water. Get a small pot and fill it enough to submerge the object and place it on the stove.
After it has been brought to boil, the heat should be reduced to cause only simmering and by that time the object can be placed safely but make sure that it would be entirely submerged. Ascertain that you already have removed any particles inside. Simmering will be good for only twenty up to thirty minutes then rinsing follows.
In cleaning your glass pipes, be sure not to put them in boiling water if they are cold because it will cause their shattering but warm them first with your palms. If the boiling method will be use, expect that the entire house will be filled with a strong odor. Be sure to wash them well before using.
